Elder Ballard has said,"Become a CREATOR OF CIRCUMSTANCES instead of a CREATURE of circumstances."

This simple phrase is one that I have heard since the beginning of my mission, but one that I feel like I have come to truly understand in the past couple of weeks...and apply in the past couple of days.

Being a creature means that we let others dictate are happiness, productivity, success,  attitude
, obedience, etc.
Becoming a Creator, instead of a Creature means that we can't rely on external things, people or events in our life to bring us happiness. Instead we must find  happiness in whatever life has brought us or not brought. It means choosing to find the good and be happy no matter where we are, who we're with or what circumstances may be around us.
      As General Conference
was here this week, I thought about what I can personally do to apply and change what I have learned. To Create Success and not hope that it will magically appear around me.  We really worked hard this week and were really blessed. Personally I worked on (and am still working on) becoming a creator and not a creature. After a lot of hard work this week, The Lord provided 3 new investigators for us this week. Which were all miracles in and of themselves. As we meet with these people I was reminded that we are here to truly find those who are starving for the gospel. It is such a fulfilling week to have people pose many questions and to be able to say, "We have the answers for you!"and to see them say, "I always thought that!" or "It makes sense now!" I feel so blessed to be a missionary at an extraordinary time on the earth---to be part of the Lord's Work.
Love you all!

"Easter's not about the bunny, it's about the LAMB"

What a wonderful time of the year to reflect on the life of our savior. We recently helped give a presentation to our ward on the new video the church has put out called, BECAUE HE LIVES  (Here's the link) http://www.mormon.org/easter ). As I was reflecting about the video I thought of the phrase, "Because he lives..... "and about the many wonderful truths and opportunities that we all have and  will receive because of the fact that Christ lives today and guides His church. What a wonderful opportunity to be a part of this great work.

As Richard G. Scott has said, " He (President Hinckley) has borne witness that he is not the head of this Church. That head is our Lord and master, Jesus Christ the redeemer. He guides it. He has given his life that even in our weakness, we may overcome our mistakes through repentance and obedience to  his gospel. Oh, what a favored people we are to have this light, this knowledge, these opportunities for happiness on earth and throughout the eternities. may we commit to share a knowledge of this magnificent work, personally or through missionaries, with our friends and neighbors that they may join this kingdom of God on earth, and receive the consummate, eternal blessings available to them."

If you haven't seen the video I would highly recommend it:)

Our investigators are doing really well, specifically Luke. It has been amazing to see the difference in his life and we teach more and more of the truths of the gospel. He recognizes the good and has a strong desire to follow it. We also have some great potential investigators. Especially this one Media Refferal who requested a Book of Mormon and when we showed up was so excited to see us and just told us of his desire to know more. He told us that He knew that he had truly come to know God and after coming to this knowledge he had called a T.V. christen number and had asked what to do next and they had said to go to church and read the scriptures but he feels that there is more to it than that. We are meeting with them this week and we are excited to see what is to come:)

Hope you all have a great week:)
